Thought for the Day

Morning everyone! Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayer for my Uncle Gary and for Connor. Here is an update on Connor from Lexie..

Hey there, I hope your week is going well. A few of y'all have asked after Connor, so here is an update. He is feeling pretty good, he is finally up and around. They checked his new plumbing (esophagus reconstruction) and there were no leaks! Awesome! Over all his healing is going very well. Praise the Lord! He and Joy are coming home tomorrow (Thursday) and they are sooo ready. We are too!

Today, the surgeon came with the pathology results on Connor's tumor. Turns out he didn't get it all. This is because the new tumor was growing from the old one and it seems they sort of grew together and became one big mass. So the part of the tumor left in him that cannot be removed (it is too close to his pancreas) still has the new cancer. He is going to start chemo very soon. Chemo usually just slows down the progress of cancer... This new cancer is so fast growing that the doctors said he would have not survived another week without the surgery. Joy along with the doctors are exploring other options for Connor. Please pray that there are other options. The thought of putting more chemo in Connor's already weakened body is scary. Really, things are just kinda scary right now... Again and always, thank you all for caring so much about my family.

O Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." But you are a shield around me, O Lord; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. To the Lord I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. Psalm 3:3-8
